The House of God

The answer you entered to the math problem is incorrect.

Do not trust the words of this saying, “This is the LORD’S temple, the LORD’S temple, the LORD’S temple!” (Jeremiah 7:3, 4, GWV)
The people of Jeremiah’s day, specifically the residents of Jerusalem, were facing invasion by a seemingly unstoppable enemy, but they had faith that God would protect them. Soon after, the Chaldean army captured Jerusalem and took the people into captivity.
God sent the Chaldean army, after many ignored warnings, to remove the people from their place of supposed sanctuary. How often do we emphasize our beautiful church and God’s presence within? There’s nothing wrong with trusting in God’s promise to be with us always, but it’s easy to say, “God has blessed this congregation for over 100 years—of course He’ll continue to do so.” God has promised to save through the hearing of His Word, but it’s up to us to share that Word.
